WELCOME!![]() | KENYA RAY OF HOPE OBJECTIVES To raise a team of workers to reach the Kenyan Coast with the gospel and beyond. To disciple children and youth through youth camps and retreats. To care for needy and orphans through sponsorship program. To train church leaders who will plant mission-minded churches. To promote unity in the body of Christ. |
The Ray of Hope Village Center was built by Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in
1983 - 1984 for the purpose of training, evangelism, and mercy ministry. About six years ago, the center was closed and vacated.
The leaders and founders of Ray of Hope were seeking the Lord in the city of Nairobi, they sensed God was leading them to continue what God had been doing through this ministry serving the area through community development, serving orphans, serving disadvantaged children, serving church leaders, and providing missionary training.
In October of 2005, John Kisamwa (pictured above with his wife Habona) moved into the area and started repair work on what would become the home of Ray of Hope Children Center and other ministries of Ray of Hope.
Ray of Hope Village is located sixty kilometers south of Mombasa in Kwale district at Makwangani Village. The area has mixed tribes with the majority being the Digos who have not been reached with the gospel.

Key Scripture Isaiah 58: 6-7
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and unite the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the wanderer with shelter – when you see the naked, to clothe him, and not to turn away from your won flesh and blood?”
